Well, I went and CG'd another one. This one came out a little weird... but I like how the cartoony style flows with Mario. The style I used in this was inspired by the artwork for Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, except not all pastel-ish.

Well, it does for me, or maybe I'm nuts.
Seeing as you've asked for crit, I'd say that if I were you, I'd *try* to keep the lineart as equal as possible - the lines around the head are way too thin compared to that of the legs.
Other than that, this is excellent, and Superstar Saga was a truly awesome game
